Create covers that pass review

Generate a compliant cover background, add your artist name and title from metadata, then export at 3000×3000 px JPEG (300 DPI) and run a full compliance check. 1400×1400 to 3000×3000 px, perfect square. Quick AI experiments? Open AI test lab.

1. Release metadata

Start here — enter exactly what you will submit to your distributor. Cover text is pulled from artist name and project title below.

Featured artists on the cover use “Ft.” and appear below the primary artist. Band or artist logos are fine. Do not use streaming platform logos or another artist’s name/likeness without written permission.

Featured artists

Optional — external collaborators only. Band members cannot be featured artists. If listed on the cover, use “Ft. Artist Name”.

No featured artists — add any name that appears as “Ft. …” on the cover.

Songwriters

Optional — songwriters do not need to be on the artwork. Add anyone whose name appears as readable text on the cover (including “Written by …” credits).

No songwriters listed — add names only if they appear on the artwork.

Track details

Required to validate “EP” on artwork and predict how Spotify and Apple Music will categorize your release. Use mm:ss (e.g. 28:30) or minutes (e.g. 28.5).

Select which distributor you are using.

Generate or upload a background to start designing

Uses one compliance report from your monthly plan. Export is 3000×3000 JPEG at 300 DPI (under 10 MB).

2. Design settings

Background

Describe what you want, pick a style preset, and generate art with no text — you add artist and title from metadata so they match your submission. Generated backgrounds are upscaled to 3000×3000 px. Optionally upload a reference photo to feature yourself or your artist on the cover.

Checking whether AI generation is available on the server…

Add OPENAI_API_KEY and/or FAL_KEY to .env.local, or upload your own background below.

Background overlay

Tint or darken the background under your cover text. Applied on export.

  • Busy photos: try a subtle black overlay (~25–40%) so artist name and title stay readable.
  • Same album art for multiple singles: a different tint color is an allowed way to make each cover distinct for distributor review.

Cover text styling

Font, size, letter spacing, and position for artist name and project title on export.
